It would be possible to shelter habitats deep underground or having mobile habitats that constantly follow the terminator (border between day and night). There could be stop over areas where the mobile habitates go into a tunnel complex to shelter from the intense heat. A large thin transparent lens can be setup over time at the sun facing lagrange point which would allow light to be concentrated at the surface and lower the amount of light over the rest of the surface to earth like light conditions. The use of a transparent lens allows light to pass through without affecting position of the lens greatly. The concentration of power at the surface allows enomous amounts of power to be concentrated in a small area where solarcells could harvest the energy. The energy could be used for the setting up of a very large magnetic field to protect the surface and harvest large amounts of solar hydrogen for water production.
