Spaceflight is under threat from an increasing amount of space debris. Due to the high speeds in orbit, even tiny objects are like bullets. The Kessler effect is when pieces hitting one object generates many new objects that can hit many more and so exponentially on.
Moving objects to make them burn in Earth's atmosphere would be inefficient and expensive. But if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. A satellite for capturing space debris can, instead of wasting it, recycle it to build new functioning spacecraft in space without launching them from Earth. Such a satellite can be fitted with 3D printers.
If Earth orbit becomes too junky to launch a recycling satellite, Cleaning orbit from Earth remains.
